Edward Kariithi

Regional Service Delivery Technical Advisor & NCD Lead, Kenya Country Program, PATH

Dr. Edward Kariithi has 10 years of progressive experience on integrated health projects in various roles. His expertise is in program design, planning, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation (M&E). He has extensive experience in diverse program implementation for USAID, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Institute Of Health (NIH) among others in HIV/TB prevention, care, and treatment and Non-Communicable Disease management. Dr. Kariithi currently serves as the Regional Service Delivery Technical Advisor for PATH and NCD Lead for the Kenya Country Program providing strategic, technical and implementation support for HIV/TB and NCD projects.
 
Previously, Dr. Kariithi served as the Deputy Chief of Party for the USAID-funded Afya Ziwani project, providing strategic and management support, technical guidance, and leadership for service delivery across PATH’s implementation teams in HIV, TB, OVC/DREAMS and NCD related programming. In these roles, he has supported health system strengthening approaches at national and county levels for optimal delivery of HIV/TB and NCDs interventions. He previously served as the Service Delivery Advisor and Team Leader for the Elizabeth Glaser Paediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) under the USAID funded APHIAplus Western Kenya project, leading the team that conceptualized, planned, implemented, and ensured attainment of results for the project service delivery elements. He also served as AIDSRelief HIV/AIDS Medical Technical Advisor and prevention of mother-to-child transmission (PMTCT) Project Director under APHIA II for the Catholic Medical Mission Board in Kenya. In that role, he provided clinical leadership in HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment.
 
Dr. Kariithi has a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery and Master of Art in Programme Planning and Management and Diplomas in Epidemiology and Health Systems Management
